Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique

International Gymnastics Federation

FIG, also known as the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique or the International Gymnastics Federation, is the governing body for gymnastics around the world. This gymnastics oversight organization controls all aspects of the sport, including competitions, judging, and rules.

The FIG was founded in 1881, and has since grown to include over 100 member countries. It is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. It governs all levels of gymnastics, from grassroots to elite. It organizes international competitions such as the World Championships and the Olympic Games. While there are many other gymnastics oversight organizations throughout the world, FIG is undoubtedly the largest and most prolific.

The International Gymnastics Federation is responsible for developing the sport of gymnastics and promoting it around the world. In order to do this, they offer educational programs and support to member countries. They also work to train judges and coaches. FIG is dedicated to making sure that gymnastics is a safe and fair sport for all athletes.
